And after a decade in the business, I’ve narrowed it down to three reasons why.

1) They’re not making enough money.

2) They’re not feeling fulfillment from their career.

3) They’re feeling like in order to make money and find fulfillment, their career is becoming their whole life.

And what’s worse, it doesn’t have to be just one or just another. It’s entirely possible to have some of all three problems, or any combination!

It’s easy to get in the weeds about what causes these feelings, or how to remedy them, but ultimately, most people who leave the fitness business (which is most people who enter the fitness business), leave for one or more of these three reasons.

Personal Training is a unique business with unique challenges. you don’t have to figure it out alone.

The fact is, personal training is a unique job in a lot of ways. You have a lot of control over an endless array of variables, and there are some things that are just out of your control. Some days, when the bank account is empty or the schedule is so full you have to cancel date night again or that pain-in-the-ass client won’t stop texting you with questions you’ve answered forty times, it can be easy to ask… “why am I doing this?” It is my goal to not only ensure you know the answer to that question in a deep, meaningful, easily-articulated way, but also to ensure that whatever makes you ask yourself that becomes less and less frequent of a problem. You know why you got into training. You know what you hope to do for others, and you know what you’d like to provide for yourself. All I do is help you make that the reality. Those are the “three ships.” Let’s chase the horizon.

The small group is our “flag ship.” After we make sure we’re a fit for each other, you’ll join a group of no more than six other trainers, and over six months you’ll learn from me and from each other, while getting to share the knowledge you’ve gained along the way.
