Karate body: fitness for fight sports (and the combat arts)

What to Expect

We’ll go over some of the best moves to build balance, mobility, and power, as well as discussing why they’re so effective.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING EXCEPT A RELIABLE INTERNET CONNECTION and a safe space to move around in if you so choose.

WE’LL GO OVER SOME TOOLS THAT I THINK PROVIDE DISPROPORTIONATE VALUE, AND IF YOU WANT THEM IN ADVANCE, YOU CAN GET THEM HERE (THe top list is my amazon affiliate links. The bottom list is the same thing but i don’t earn commission. I do this to ensure you know that these are my recommendations whether or not there’s a nickel in it for me)

What You'll Need

As a kid, I was obsessed with martial arts. I practiced constantly, watched the VHS tapes, went to camps and seminars, and read the magazines. Those magazines introduced me to the concepts that would become strength and conditioning - fitness - training.

Looking back now, I see that I could have achieved more than I did, and avoided a lot of injuries, with a good S&C regimen. I underperformed, I missed days, and I suffered needlessly due to what I didn’t know about what I didn’t know.

I went on to become a personal trainer, which I have done for the last decade-plus. I have spent thousands of hours training people to be the strongest, most mobile version of themselves.

And now, I am returning to my first love: martial arts. I want to help people get the most out of their practice, so we can have better martial artists who are also suffering less.

Without further ado… let’s get to it!

Many experts think that martial arts training is all you need to build strength for martial arts.

Bruce Lee disagreed.

"Quality, man. Quality. When quality is right, everything is right." - Bruce Lee

what we’ll do…

First, we’ll go over the plan for the session.

We’ll then jump into some warm-up movements Eric really likes for martial arts.

Next, we’ll dive into a few strength and conditioning movements specifically chosen for relevance to martial artists.

We’’ go over why they were chosen and why they work.

Then at the end, there will be a brief sales pitch. If you choose to log out at that point, my feelings will not be hurt…

… but there maaaaaay be a cool incentive for you to at least stick around until the end.

No catch. No cutesy wordplay. That’s 100% it. Either you like what you hear and want to hear me out, or you take what you heard and do with it as you will at no cost.

I won’t even email you without your explicit permission.
